Enrollment and Tours

Joining CPMA this year:

For the 2025-26 academic year, we are still accepting new 6th and 7th grade students from outside San Diego Unified School District.

Contact Dr. Coolican at [email protected] for information about auditions and enrollment.

School Tours:

We will be hosting school tours for prospective students and families throughout the year. Click here for more information and to register for one. Tours last one hour and are catered towards a student's interests. Tours are also extremely fun, insightful, and popular: the number of this year's tours has already passed last year's number, in only four months.

Auditions and Enrollment for 2026-27:

For students who have auditioned: acceptance letters will be emailed and sent out in the mail shortly after your audition date.

For the 2026-27 academic year, we are auditioning and admitting new 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students through the district's Choice Enrollment program, even past the Nov 15th deadline. Register now through the district's choice enrollment page.

Our LAST DAY of weekend auditions will be Saturday, February 21st, 9:00-1:00 in the CPMA Library. Please schedule an audition or audition online by visiting our AUDITION WEBSITE.

Worried about Auditions? Don't be. Please see more information about auditions below.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Coolican at [email protected].

Thank you for considering our school for your child's education. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our school community!

Audition Info:
For the audition, it'll consist of a sit-down interview and answering the three questions below. Please make sure the student attends. Portfolios and film clips of a performance on a cell phone are optional. The questions the student will be answering are:

  2. What two different art pathways are you interested in? (Our pathways include visual and media art, band, orchestra, guitar & piano, dance, creative writing, choir, theatre, and technical theatre.)
  3. What do you love about being an artist?
